2008
If you haven’t noticed the rather large sign-up image to the right of your screen perhaps you do now? I put this on the site for 1 simple reason, it draws readers attention to it in the hopes that they sign-up to our awesome blog!
You can do your part by signing up as well, don’t hesitate because monthly we pick a winner to take home $25.00! ITS FREE CASH!
So today I want to talk about drawing the readers attention to a specific part of a website. Believe it or not us humans are not perfect so we need to figure out (learn) what the hot spots of our blogs are so we can populate those sections with ads or places for our readers to sign-up to our blog.
Hot Spots Program
There is a program out there that does this for you its called CrazyEgg and its excellent for discovering exactly what the hot spots on your blog are.
It creates a heat map for where the visitors mouse is more then other areas. It helps you pin point words and full advert sections that are hit the most on your blog already.

Its not overly difficult to understand and I encourage everyone to at least try it out. This is not a paid review either its because I believe in this program and want everyone to try it!
The Oldschool Way
Now that program is all well and fine but its not really that great for anything more then finding out what your blog is already doing right. What about the things your doing wrong or not at all? Well this is where we turn to ourselves and say “DO SOMETHING”.
We need to figure out what the best spots are on any and every blog to effectively make money online. I have found that just below the header is a great spot to put either affiliate ads or adsense. This spot is what users usually see first as we all read from “Top Left” to “Bottom Right”.
Knowing that we read from the top left down the top left spot is obviously going to yield excellent results if we put ads there. But what about using it to increase sign-ups, not everyone will take the risk of putting a huge blatant image on there blogs telling people to sign-up as we have here on POB.
Blogging is all about experimenting and I hope this post triggers you to look at your blog through a new set of eyes. See what works and what doesn’t over time, keep what works and eliminate what doesn’t so you can get the most out of your blog! GO MAKE SOME MONEY!
